Analysis of the Development Trend of Domestic Plastic Products Industry in 2023

Plastic products are widely used, and the vast downstream industry provides strong support for the development of China's plastic products industry. With the introduction of the "Detailed Plan for Revitalizing the Petrochemical Industry", China's plastic products industry is facing new development opportunities. The demand for plastic products in China is mainly concentrated in several aspects, such as agricultural plastic products, packaging plastic products, building plastic products, industrial transportation, and engineering plastic products. In the home appliance industry, product plasticization has become one of the important development directions, and plastic has become the fastest growing material in the field of home appliances, with an average annual growth rate of about 29.5% in recent years. With the increase of plastic material consumption, how to fully recycle the plastic waste of these waste electrical appliances will become an important topic of Plastics engineering. Especially the recycling and utilization of engineering plastics will be a hot topic for future development.
The industrial agglomeration of the domestic plastic product industry is developing towards clustering. The domestic plastic products industry has formed a regional Sex industry cluster represented by the Yangtze Delta and Zhuhai Delta, which is adjacent to or partially overlaps with the downstream industry manufacturing center, and has the dual advantages of regional economic development and industrial supporting, which will further strengthen the leading position of the advantageous regions in the industry and promote the industrial agglomeration to develop in a more clustered direction. The domestic plastic product industry is relatively concentrated in provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Fujian.
According to the "Research Report on the Development Trends and Strategies of the Domestic Plastic Products Industry from 2023 to 2028" by the China Research Institute of Industry:
In January 2020, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic pollution, which not only put forward the requirements for prohibiting and restricting the control of disposable plastic products for many industries, but also proposed measures to promote the application of alternative products, cultivate and optimize new business models and increase the supply of green products, known as the "strictest plastic restriction order" in history. After a year, this new regulation has been officially implemented nationwide, and local plastic restriction measures have been introduced in various regions. The special rectification work is gradually advancing, and the new and old plastic industry is facing upgrading challenges. Since the implementation of the new version of the plastic restriction order, degradable plastic products have become a "new favorite" in the market, and related enterprises have also concentrated in this field. Someone has proposed that if 20% of the market is replaced by degradable plastics, the corresponding market size will have a hundred times the growth space compared to now, and the industrial development will enter the "golden age". However, at the same time, the scale of the degradable plastic industry is still "small and scattered", with overcapacity at the low end and insufficient high-end production capacity, urgently requiring a new round of quality improvement and upgrading.
As people pay more attention to health, they put forward higher and more standardized requirements for antibacterial and bactericidal plastics of household appliances. It is reported that more and more enterprises have used antibacterial plastics in refrigerators, washing machines, Water dispenser, Rice cooker, air fresheners, etc. to reduce microbial contamination and cross infection of bacteria. After years of development, China has become the world's largest producer and consumer of plastics, with the largest market in the world. Data shows that China's plastic product production in 2022 was 77.716 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. As people's awareness of health increases
